Coconut Oil and Sugar Lip Scrub

A pinch of sugar in coconut oil, with a drop of honey, is rubbed gently on dry lips and then wiped off. It is a one-minute kitchen scrub, not for split or bleeding lips.

Kitchen still life of coconut oil, a pinch of sugar, and a drop of honey on a small saucer, with no people and no text.

About this coconut sugar lip scrub

Dry lips sometimes get a gentle scrub of sugar in coconut oil, then the grains are wiped away. A drop of honey is in this mix so it feels a little softer, not so it stays on as a coat. The rub should be light. Sugar can scratch if you press.

This does not heal cracks or make lips smooth for good. If the lips are split, bleeding, or sore, do not scrub them at all. Wipe every grain off when you finish.

Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon coconut oil
  • a pinch of sugar
  • a drop of honey

How to prepare

  1. Stir a pinch of sugar into coconut oil so the grains are wet, not a dry pile.
  2. Mix in a drop of honey. Use only this small amount.

How to use

  • Pat the lips dry. If they are split or bleeding, stop and do not scrub.
  • Rub the mix gently over dry lips for a few seconds with a clean finger.
  • Wipe every bit off with a soft cloth. Do not leave sugar on the lips.

Helpful habits

  • One gentle pass is enough. Do not scrub every day.
  • If a grain feels sharp, wipe it off at once.

Precautions

  • External use only. Do not swallow a mouthful of the scrub on purpose.
  • Patch test beside the mouth on intact skin if coconut, sugar, or honey bothers you.
  • Do not use it on broken, split, or bleeding lips. Stop if it stings.
