Rose Water Ice Cube Cool-Down

Rose water is frozen into ice cubes and stroked over warm skin for about a minute. The cube keeps moving. This is a short cool-down, not a treatment for puffiness or redness.

Kitchen still life of rose water in a glass beside an ice tray of frozen rose-water cubes, with no people and no text.

About this rose water ice cube cool-down

Pour rose water into a clean ice tray and freeze it. The ice is only rose water, stroked over skin that feels warm. Keep the cube moving for about a minute in total. Holding ice still in one place can hurt even healthy skin.

A cool feel is all this offers. It does not bring down swelling, erase tired eyes, or treat flushed skin. Do not use it on broken skin, and do not drag a cube across the eyelids. If the skin goes numb or hurts, stop.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup rose water
  • ice frozen from that rose water
  • a clean ice tray

How to prepare

  1. Pour rose water into a clean ice tray and freeze until solid.
  2. Pop out one cube when you need it. Keep the rest covered in the freezer.

How to use

  • Wash the face with plain water and pat it dry.
  • Stroke the cube over warm, intact skin for about a minute, always moving it.
  • Pat away the melt water. Do not press the cube on the eyes or in one spot.

Helpful habits

  • One minute is the whole session, not one minute on each spot.
  • Use the cubes within a couple of days. Discard them if the scent turns sour.

Precautions

  • External use only. Do not rub ice into the eyes or over broken skin.
  • Patch test a quick stroke on the inner arm before the face.
  • Do not use it on broken, cut, or numb skin. Stop if it stings or hurts.
