Homemade Rose Petal Water Toner
Fresh desi rose petals simmered in water, cooled and kept in the fridge as a gentle, fragrant face toner for up to a week.

Using rose sensibly at home
Gulab (rose) petals, rose water and gulkand are cooling in Ayurveda and are used for skin, summer heat and a calm mood.
Rose water is one of the oldest Indian skincare staples. A homemade petal infusion is simpler than distilled rose water and works as a refreshing, mild toner after cleansing.

Frequently asked questions
Is this the same as rose water?
- It is an infusion, not a distillate, so it keeps for a shorter time.
Can I use it around the eyes?
- On closed lids with a pad is fine; do not put it in the eyes.
Is bottled rose water fine?
- Choose one with only rose distillate listed, no alcohol or fragrance.
