Important: this remedy is only a supportive home measure. Keep taking any medicine your doctor has prescribed, monitor your readings, and consult your doctor before adding anything new.

What to know about vijaysar

Vijaysar (Indian kino tree) heartwood is traditionally made into tumblers; water left in them overnight turns reddish and is sipped in the morning. It is studied as a diabetes support.

Vijaysar (Pterocarpus marsupium) is mentioned in Ayurveda for prameha, conditions that include diabetes. Lab and small human studies suggest some blood-sugar-lowering effect, but good trials are few.

The tumbler method is gentle: water is left in the wooden glass overnight and sipped in the morning. Keep your medicines, diet and sugar checks unchanged and tell your doctor.
