Brahmi (Bacopa) is a small creeping herb Ayurveda links with memory and a calm mind. Some studies suggest a mild effect on memory after weeks of use; it is not a quick fix.
Brahmi oil is a traditional summer head oil, used to cool the scalp and calm the mind. Many people find a short head massage with it relaxing before sleep.
Ingredients
- 200 ml coconut oil
- 1 tbsp brahmi powder or a handful of fresh leaves
- 1 tbsp amla powder
How to prepare
- Warm oil with the herbs on the lowest heat for 15 minutes; fresh leaves should crackle gently, not fry.
- Cool, strain and store in a glass bottle.
How to use
- Massage 1 to 2 tsp into the scalp in the evening.
- Wash after an hour or next morning, twice a week.
