Cumin–coriander–fennel (CCF) tea

A mild, soothing seed tea sipped through the day. It is gentle enough for most people and is often used for bloating and a heavy feeling after meals.

A glass of golden cumin, coriander and fennel tea beside the three whole spices on a wooden spoon.

Ingredients

  • ½ teaspoon cumin seeds (jeera)
  • ½ teaspoon coriander seeds (dhaniya)
  • ½ teaspoon fennel seeds (saunf)
  • 2 cups water

How to prepare

  1. Add all the seeds to the water in a small pan.
  2. Bring to a boil, then simmer on low heat for 5 minutes.
  3. Strain into a flask so it stays warm.

How to use

  • Sip a few mouthfuls warm between meals through the day.
  • Make it fresh every morning rather than storing it overnight.

Precautions

  • Generally mild, but stop if you notice any allergy or discomfort.
  • Pregnant or nursing women should keep to food-level amounts and check with their doctor.
  • Persistent bloating, pain, or a change in bowel habits needs a medical check-up.
