Dates and sesame energy bites
Dates, sesame seeds and jaggery are traditional, iron- and mineral-rich foods often given to women who feel tired and low in energy. These no-cook bites are an easy daily snack.

Ingredients
- 1 cup soft seedless dates
- 3 tablespoons white or black sesame seeds, lightly roasted
- 2 tablespoons chopped almonds or peanuts
- 1 teaspoon ghee; a pinch of cardamom powder
How to prepare
- Chop the dates finely or pulse them in a mixer to a sticky paste.
- Mix in the roasted sesame, nuts, ghee and cardamom.
- With greased hands, roll into 10–12 small balls. Store airtight for up to a week.
How to use
- Eat 1–2 bites a day as a mid-morning or evening snack.
Precautions
- Dates are high in natural sugar — people with diabetes should discuss portions with their doctor.
- Avoid if you are allergic to sesame or nuts.
- Constant tiredness can be caused by anaemia or thyroid problems — ask your doctor for a blood test rather than relying on food alone.
