Banana and Ragi Pancake for a Kids' Breakfast

Mashed ripe banana with ragi flour in a small thick pancake, with no added sugar. For children who can eat solid food and have no allergies.

Two small brown banana-ragi pancakes on a plate with ripe bananas and a bowl of ragi flour.

A sweet, soft breakfast without added sugar

Ripe banana gives natural sweetness and ragi, or finger millet, adds calcium and fibre. Mixed into a small, soft pancake, they make an easy breakfast or snack that many children enjoy without any sugar. It is a food, not a cure for weak growth or poor appetite.

Mash one ripe banana, mix with about three tablespoons of ragi flour and a splash of milk or water, and cook on a lightly oiled pan until set. Make it small and soft, and cut into pieces for young children. Use only for children who have started solid foods and have no known allergy. Ask your paediatrician if your child has a food allergy or feeding trouble.
