A Pea-Sized Turmeric and Jaggery Ball
A small ball of fresh turmeric, a little jaggery and ghee, taken after a meal in the cold months. Food, not a joint treatment.

A winter habit, pea-sized
Haldi-gud goli is a traditional winter after-meal bite, made by mixing turmeric with a little jaggery and ghee. It has a warming taste and is a family habit in many homes. It is a food and not a treatment for joint pain, swelling or any condition.
Keep the ball pea-sized, since jaggery adds sugar and turmeric in large amounts can upset the stomach. Make it fresh. Skip it with gallstones, in pregnancy in large amounts, if you manage blood sugar, or if you take blood thinners without asking your doctor.
